Robbie, While steins marked W. Germany, West Germany or Western Germany will date the stein in the 50-year period of West Germany after WWII, not all steins in that period were stamped like that. You will find some without the country of origin (such as the 1970 and 1972 steins made for the SCI conventions). Other steins may have been stamped "Made in Germany" (such as the 1967, 1968, 1971 and 1973 steins made for the SCI conventions). Ron
