Thank you, Ron! The stein was given to me from an older gentleman from German, now living in the states. It also has a pin attaching the lid, so I am pretty sure it is German. No Griffin or Shiled, and the mark odd figure-8 is below the crown. Thanks again... I will continue my search. JC
