Hi Stewart, thank you so much for your replies. I appreciate all of your information. I did read through some articles and plan to read more! The "GERMANY" on bottom is imprinted into the ceramic and so is the "E. Bay". It doesn't say "Made in Germany", though from what I read "Germany" would indicate that it was. I do have a couple of pictures however after reading the article about "getting to know your stein" I find that all the things I have been looking at where not all the necessarily things to look at :) I hope to take some better pictures showing handle, lid, and thumb lift...I sincerely appreciate the information on Egon Bay...more information I can check into to.
