Countless steins, from Germany and elsewhere, are decorated that way. If you see a trademark on it somewhere we might be able to help. Japanese ones are usually lighter pottery, the painting is less sharp, and the hinges usually have screws. German are heavier, more detailed decoration, and have pin type hinges. Musical steins are usually contemporary (post WWII).
