Hello - This is my first visit to your site. I wonder if I could get some help on identity, background, and perhaps price on this item. I have what I believe to be a Westerwald stein. This piece was literally dug out of a church yard in Lille, France in 1969. The piece is in almost flawless condition. The reason that I believe this is a stein is due to the small hole near the top of the handle visible in the photo. What's curious though is that this piece has a spout for pouring and not the round shape most steins have. I am puzzled by that. Take a look at the photos linked below and let me know what you think. I belive this may be quite valuable.
