I like a large circumference; but, I do drink out of glass mugs and steins a lot because I want to see the color of my beers. The main thrust of my post though, was that if one doesn't obey Paragraph 11 one may be unable to identify the original uses of the less common stein types such as master steins or steins with a schnapps glass on the handle etc. If steins are just pretty collectors items then one loses understanding of them.
