Karen, Mettlach's 1905 catalog shows you could buy Form 812 for 2,50(mks, pfg) plus 1,25 for an inlaid lid or 1,50 for an ornamental pewter lid. Today's collector, however, prefer the inlaid lid and will pay more for that stein than one with an all pewter lid. Ron
