Mike, The name "Zwickau" is the name of a city in the old Kingdom of Saxony. It is located south of Leipzig and southwest of Chemnitz. There are two towns in Saxony named "Hermansdorf" but I suspect that "Hermansdorfer" is the name of the pewtersmith. The figures painted on the stein are undoubtedly wearing the traditional clothing of the area. John
