I have noticed two stein marks with a Star of David/6 pointed star. Matthias Girmscheid and Reinhold Merkelbach. More notably, the later according to "The Basic Marks" by Walt Vogdes shows the 6 pointed star being used only to 1933, when the Nazi's began to come in to power. Were these in fact Jewish makers and how did they manage to continue in business during the Nazi period? Were they considered essential to the economy and spared? Can anyone elaborate?
