Mr Vodges, there are 2 things going on here. Look at the stein. What is the reason for all those little "pockmarks" all over the stein; sides, bottom, top? They are pretty consistent everywhere. What is the cause? I see only one possibility and that is wonderfully remote: a sandstorm. I say this: It didn't happen. It was faked. Now, I could agree that this might be ca. 1900, although I think it's mid 1900's. The other thing is the seller states this is ca. 1820's. I don't see that at all. The seller also states the marks are "makers marks". He knows these are marks denoting the lead amounts, or lack thereof, and not maker's marks.
