Danny, You will need to post a photo of the stein and the bottom markings. The only 2138 listed in the Mettlach catalogs is a bowl with geometric designs. If your stein is a print under glaze (PUG), 2138 could be a decoration number, but I couldn't find that under decoration numbers either. Heinrich Schlitt (HS) was known for his gnome steins. Do those initials appear on the stein? There is a master stein (3.25 liters), 953, with a decoration number 2183 showing gnomes drinking by Schlitt.
