Hi, Raul. First, I apparently misread the seller's dating, thought it was circa 1900, which I took no objection to. As to whether it is almost *200* years old, I offer no opinion. I feel the pockmarks and small dents are consistent with use over a long period, since pewter, a soft metal, will not take much abuse. Many English pewter pub tankards have very similar appearance. Even so, it is possible that this piece was produced during the historismus era (circa 1880-1900) WITH those marks. As for the touchmarks, many pewterers used the angel as part of their maker's mark. Unfortunately, I can't see the detail of the marks which would be needed in order to identify it, if that is even possible. One thing about the marks is unusual - normally marking is three touchmarks inside the lid, none on top. And of the three, two are usually the same, indicating the city of origin, and the third is the maker's mark. In this case all three marks, two inside and one on top, seem to be the same.
