Your stein was definitely made in Japan. Look at the lid apparatus. Anytime you see a stein with screws in the lid apparatus (which I'm sure yours has) you immediately know it was made in Japan. Compare the graphics to any German made stein and the difference will be obvious. Sorry for the bad news. Dick
