I recently acquired a King stein that has a stag figure in the "grotto". First of all I noticed it is painted pewter, unlike the other figures they use which I think are resin now (owl, dog, eagle, boar). Secondly, it is stamped Austria. This must be a relatively older (for King)grotto stein. My question is when did King stop making steins in Austria? I presume that they made steins both in Austria and Germany for some period of time.
