Ron provided a good summary. I'll add the details that DBGM means post-1951, as that is when the republic replaced the empire at the patent office, apparently. Also, the semi-legible han-?? is probably part of the German term for either handmade, or handpainted, both of which appear on modern steins to indicate that they are not entirely machine made.
