Paul Neu designed several items for Reinhold Merkelbach circa 1910, including
steins 2155, 2192-2194, 2196-2197, 2243-2245, 2248(?), and a bowl 2218. When he
used people as part of his design he favored showing them in Biedermeier dress,
and generally in a happy or playful style. While his designs were elaborate, its
elements were simplified and stylized, indicating his place among the Jugendstil
artists.

Here is an interesting stained glass window with a student Wappen which is
also attributed to Neu. It is surprising because there is nothing in its
artistic style which seems to suggest Neu.
