Usually folks are glad to answer about Mettlach's. Maybe they are on vacation. Or, maybe they want to see a photo. I'm not an expert on them, but if that is really that number Mettlach 6.8 Litre, then a specialist stein auctioneer would be the way to go. Of course, you could try ebay with a fair starting price. There are a lot of questions regarding repairs, but there are no answers about just who is capable of doing them. Your stein may be valuable enough to be worth searching out a craftsman, if there is one.
