Robert I, like you, prefer my steins older rather than modern. If the stein is a good one and you like it, that should be enough. If however the stein is indeed good and you like it, the chances are that others will like it and it will become collectable. Please collect it for what it is and not for its investment possibilities. I buy my steins for their beauty or as historical records. If I needed to know how much any of my steins will be worth in ten years, I would consider myself in the wrong hobby.
