Robert, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The same is true for collecting and generally the bigger the area of interest or the more organized it is will have an impact on how collectible it is. Limited editions, particularly those numbered, have appeal. The limited editions can run from a few hundred (SCI convention steins for example) to several thousand (5,000 to 10,000 is a common range). I suspect these stein might have more appeal to Christmas collectors than stein collectors, but that just increases the size of the potential market. I have not seen your stein, but there is a Munich Christmas stein (colbalt blue background) by M&R listed on eBay that is stated as the second annual edition and the year is 1979 (BuyItNow for $24.95). Your stein may be in that series. While M&R celebrated 100 years in 1979, they didn't last long after that so it will not be a long series to collect. Most limited editions have decreased in the secondary market with a few exceptions. Ron
