Julian, I think both the stein and lid are jugendstil. However, I didn't find this particular stein in any of my jugendstil books or material. Since the 1919 was engraved, the stein could have been produced prior to that date. Some manufacturers didn't mark their steins. Perhaps there was a sticker attached to it at one time. The country of manufacture was only required for export purposes. Perhaps someone who collects jugendstil steins can give you some clues to the manufacturer, but lacking a marked stein or catalog it may be impossible to know the real manufacturer. Ron
