Given limitations of space and wallet, I prefer to collect useful steins. My interest in German (esp. Bavarian) folk traditions allows me considerable opportunity to employ my modest collection in the drinking of beer (without this pastime, would these things we all love called steins even exist?) This is a long intro for my question: Can anyone tell me how/why crazing happens and if I should avoid using steins with crazing for drinking? Most of mine do not have it, but I recently acquired a beautiful Wick-Werke piece in the "round" .5L format, but the interior is laced with fine crazing. Any thoughts?
