I am researching Emil Sahm (the glass company?!) for inclusion in the Stein Reference. I have found a pre 1936 stoneware stein Ebay Item number: 130253310087, which is marked Emil Sahm both on the base and the pewter. Further trawling on the net brought up the following web site http://ca.geocities.com/volturno@rogers.com/volturno73.html which shows a regimental style stein, which I believe to have originated from Merkelbach & Wick, but stamped Emil Sahm. Whether the ship identification is correct or not I believe this stein to be pre 1914. Can anyone confirm my theories?
