Looking at the SAHM site it looks as if glass company doesn't give the right overall impression; they are specialized into commercial art in the form of brewery and beverage products. About the ship stein, you can make out the name if you look closely at the photos. The ship's story fits what I know of such things, making the stein definitely pre-1914. It also fits with the article on "The North German Lloyd and its Steins" in the current Prosit!
