Hello. I am hoping someone can help me out or maybe just point me in the right direction. I have inherited a stein from my long deceased grandfather and would like to know more about it. I don't plan on selling it but it would be nice to know what it is worth and maybe some of its history. The stein has been on his wall since I was a little boy so it must be fairly old (I am 37). So far I have ascertained that it is made by the Thewalt company as the logo is stamped on the bottom. There is also a 6 or 9 stamped onto the bottom and an inscription that says "West Germany". There is one other inscription but I can't quite make it out. Kind of looks like two 1s. On the stein itself is the inscription "Junge Madchen und banrisch Bier Willst du froh sein. rat ich dir." and a number is stamped on the back. Looks like 1405 but the 0 isn't fully stamped out. Google tells me that this translates into something like "young girls and beer if you want to be happy". The scene is of two young men at a table drinking beer and two young ladies eying them from the end of the table. Here is a rather bad picture of it but I can take more if it might help. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3015/2955628445_de9e2d2d11_b.jpg Thanks in advance.
