Chris, While I appreciate the suggestion and would be more than happy to transfer the cost and effort necessary for maintaining the Library over to SCI, several attempts on my part to open a dialog pointing in that direction have fallen on deaf ears. I suspect that in at least part the lack of interest is attributable to the fact that there's a big difference between taking on "The Stein Reference" a small and relatively static document formatted in Adobe Acrobat, and hosting the Beer Stein Library, with over 6,000 pages of materials, 8,000+ photographs, dozens of proprietary programs and a literally constant need for maintenance. Even if volunteers could be found and trained to handle the effort, the out-of-pocket expenses to SCI would be well in excess anything that might simply be absorbed in the existing operating budget. Believe me, profit has never been the motive for the Library. I'd be overjoyed just to have the money back in my pocket that it's cost me personally over the years to keep the effort afloat. - Frank
