I'm looking for that article, but I don't know if I'll find it. The punsch bowls (or wien bowlen) were often used for a mix of wine with fruit and perhaps spice. (Don't dare say wassail or egg nog!) Franz once gave a recipe of dry white wine with pineapple chunks. Make it hours or a day in advance so the pineapple absorbs the alcohol. The ladies will gorge on the fruit and get tipsy. Keep it away from the children!
