I recently bought a Mettlach 2833E "I Had a Comrade", body and pewter in excellent condition, but damaged lid and handle. I have very few Mettlach steins in my collection, so know little about them. Is this series rare, as Mettlachs go? The lid inlay has two cracks and a small piece of the border missing. Can this be repaired? replaced? Would it be worth it to do so? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom
