This stein does not have a familiar incised mark on the bottom of the recessed base; rather "Villeroy & Boch" and "METTLACH" circles the word "patent". The number 1164 is incised above 24 on the inside of the skirt. The scene is signed "Weyth 1881". This ID is new to me, and I'm tempted to think it's not that old. Does anyone have any insights?
