~ Alte Thaler, junge Weiber ~

Sounds right to me on this post WWII relief stein (without lid) marked with the Thewalt logo and "original mold year 1894 and Western Germany". The archaic word "Thaler" refers to a coin denomination and probably is the origin of our word "Dollar" with almost the same pronunciation. This verse is used with a different motif on the early 1900's stein shown at the bottom.

Alte Thaler, junge Weiber
sind die besten Zeitvertreiber.
Old money and young women
are the best pastimes.
