It sure makes sense that if you were thirsty, you would have emptied the stein of beer. However it doesn't make sense just to sit and wonder where it went. The PUG (printed under glaze) stein is probably by Marzi & Remy and marked only "992 A 3", ca. 1900.
An Durst hätt i wie groß aber's Gerstl bin i schon los!	I had a great thirst, but now I have no barley (beer)!
