~ Das asige Saufen der Forstknechte und Haidereiter ~
This is a fairly loose translation that I think catches the meaning and possibly is a quote of Frederick the Great who was a prolific writer and philosopher. The meaning would be that after the days work and a good drink, one must find a refuge for the night. The stein is marked with the Villeroy & Boch logo and mold number 406 and was decorated by van Hauten of Bonn ca. 1900. This might be considered a rare occupational stein.
