~ Die Kehl kost't viel ~

The dialect verse on this nice probably "Theresienthal" glass stein with "prunts" (glass knobs) ca. late 1900's is translated into High German and then into English.

Die Kehl kost't viel. A (dry) throat is expensive.

This verse is also found with a very slight variation on this character stein of "man with pipe",  marked only Germany, ca. 1900.
