~ Die Wissenschaft is nicht gebunden ~
The author of this verse is not waiting for science to find the elixir of life, he's just going to fill this stein with beer that he knows already works like the elixir of life. The 2-liter, pouring stein is marked only "148 7", ca. 1900.
Die Wissenschaft is nicht gebunden und hält mit meinen Wunsch nicht schritt wärs Lebens Elixer erfunden ich füllte diesen Krug damit.	Science is not bound and held with my wish to proceed to find the elixir of life (thus) I filled this stein therewith.
