~ Die alten Deutschen tranken immer noch Eins ~
Those old Germans didn't know when to quit - they would just keep on drinking another last one. The stein was made by Villeroy & Boch (probably at Mettlach), but not marked with a factory logo probably because it was decorated afterward and the maker had no control over the final decor which number is also missing. The stein does conform to Mettlach mold number 1526 which it is marked and dated 1896.
Die alten Deutschen tranken immer noch Eins auch wenn sie das Letzte schon trinken hatten. |
The old Germans always drank one more even if they had already drunk the last (one). |
