~ Gewidmet von den Beamten ~

The inscription on the silver lid is for the 25 year Jubilee of a person with initials "BD" (?) who worked for the railroad post office #17 in Hamburg, Germany. The arms on the front decoration are of the city of Hamburg. The stein body was made at Mettlach, marked mold number "62" in 1907 and decorated and lidded later for this occasion.
