The general idea expressed on this stein is correct and rhymes in German, but is a little awkward in this English translation. This relief stein, ca. 1900, by Matthias Girmscheid is only marked "778".
Gut Bier, frisch Wein, eine Musika rein, wär ja ein Stein der nit wollt lustig sein.	Good beer, fresh wine, a pure music, would certainly be a monument to not counter merriment.
