~ Des Weines Gluth, des Bieres Kraft ~

This is an early 1900's relief stein made by Reinhold Hanke, mold #789. The word "Weinlese" (grape harvest) is shown on the front of the stein along with two monks who seem to be doing some grape harvesting of their own.

Des Weines Gluth, des Bieres Kraft
ist was im Leben Frohsinn schafft.
The warmth of wine, the strength of beer,
(that) is what shapes happiness in life.
