This salt-glazed beer stein is unmarked, but probably by Merkelbach and Wick, ca. late 1800's. The quaint verse relates to being merry while we're still alive and the little bell might not ring like it used to, but still works.
Seid vergnügt wir leben noch klingt er nicht so klapperts doch.	Be merry we are still alive, it maybe not ringing, but still rattles
