This pressed glass stein dates to ca. last quarter of the 19th century
judging from the handle attachment starting at the bottom, the
hinge and the 0,5 L (0.5 L) capacity mark. The capacity marks in
the metric system on steins started to be used about 1872. The
humorous scene shows a customer at a tavern taking revenge on the
tavern owner/waiter that must have done something to upset him. He appears
to be getting revenge by tweeking his hair to try to get him to
spill some of the beer he's serving.
