~ Guten Morgen dicke Dirne ~
This interesting glass stein (ca. 1870) has a porcelain lid with a humorous scene of a chimney sweep apparently hitting on the lady of the house by offering to sweep her chimney as well as that of the house, if you get the drift. The hand gestures are similar to "high fives" and seem to conclude the arrangement.

Guten Morgen dicke Dirne,
lass mir deinen Schornstein fegen.
Wo mein Besen hat gefegt,
hat er Ehre eingelegt.
Good morning buxom girl,
let me sweep your chimney.
Where my broom has swept,
it has given honor (satisfaction).
