~ So manches liebe Gläschen ~
This etched J.W. Remy stein #1218 ca. 1900 has a verse lamenting how many things go unused that could bring pleasure if put to the proper use. The text is taken from a poem entitled “Lied des Wanderburschen im Wald” (Song of the Traveling Journeymen in the Forest), written in 1862 by Karl Gärtner.

So manches liebe Gläschen,
müßt da so ungetrunken sein.
So mancher Mund, der köstlich ist,
blieb da ---ach Gott!---so ungeküßt.
So many dear little glasses,
must be (left) there as undrunk.
So many a delicious mouth,
remains there ---oh God!--- unkissed.
