Anyone have a current real value range of the 1/4 liter Nürnberg Trichter jester funnel character stein? I have been away from the stein collecting world for a bit and lost track of current values. Thanks much, Eric

    Eric,

The Scheirholz version is listed at $150 to $225 in The Beer Stein Library at https://www.beerstein.net/item.asp?ItemNum=sch-0025. Is this the one you have?

Yeah Ron, but I don’t have it. There is one in seemingly perfect condition on a site with a “buy it now” for $135 or they can accept less. (I know about the word “perfect”. This seems to be as close as it gets)

I have a character stein that I don’t know too much about
so I thought I might bring it to the experts here.

I do know that my father bought it some time before 1968 (and
as early, possibly, as 1956), probably in Germany.

It seems in very fine condition with no chips or chipped
    paint. Here are some images:

I was told the figure is a judge and found the link

    https://www.beerstein.net/item.asp?ItemNum=sch-0030

but the painting job seems a bit different than the one
pictured and the stein I have gives a volume mark of “0.4L”
inside (pictured in the final imgur imagee), not the seemingly
    more common “0.5L”.
So it may be a smaller version. The height, to top of
funnel, is about 17.2 cm (6 3/4 inches).
It seems pretty much new to my eye and, very likely,
was never used but just kept on the mantle with other
    steins my father bought.

I’d appreciate any information about it, the value
of it and where I might sell it.

    Thank you in advance,
    Kent

      Kent,

You should have started a new thread. It would have attracted more attention.

The honey color could be lighter based on different batches or sitting in the sunlight.

It was common to mark the same size as 0,5 or 0,4 by just moving the capacity mark. Just compare your height to that of a 0,5 L stein. Values should be about the same. You can also view recent sales at The Stein Auction Company. Price ranges assume mint condition in a stein auction and include the buyer’s premium, which goes to the auction house. Sales on ebay are at the lower end or less. You can list it on this site.
