I found this impressive 3Litre Stein made by Reinhold Hanke for the Eaton’s Department Store. in Toronto, Canada. Looking for any information about the story behind this stein. Was it a display to sell smaller versions? Perhaps a gift for a long time employee?

Heiner,
I was impressed by this stein on eBay, also. I wish I had some information about the story, but I don’t believe it was made just for display. Three-liter steins were not uncommon with most of the makers. What I was NOT impressed with was the pretty hefty price. Hopefully more of the story will come to us.
