RonRussel,
Your links do work though. This is a Mettlach etched stonware stein. It comes in two sizes, The Roman numeral I is the 1,0 L size and the Roman numeral II is the 1/2 L size. The stein was designed by Heinrich Schlitt. Der Durstige Ritter is The Thirsty Knight, see Translations Illustrated in The Reading Room. The Beer Stein Library lists its value at $400 to $550 in mint condition. That is generally the price range in a stein auction catalog, which includes about 30% commission to the auction house. It will generally sell at the lower range or less on ebay. Prices on Mettlachs and other steins have fallen in recent years.

RonRussell,
Your photos did not show the Crack in the lid as is shown on ebay. You will need to reduce the stein even more to allow someone to repair it. Even repaired, it will never get back to mint value.

Russell NultyThank you Ron, I appreciate it 🙂

Russell NultyThanks again Ron, if it doesn’t sell…that’s OK. I will still have it with the rest of the small collection Dad had. I appreciate all your help, I did reduce the price on E-bay.
