This is probably a Matthias Girmschied stein from around 1900. As noted on a Facebook post about your stein and further review. The clover mark does appear on some Matthias Girmschied steins. However, your stein as the number is marked does not appear in The Beer Stein Library’s catalog.

    Jeff,

The handle looks like Matthias Girmscheid MG 92 (#5) in the Westerwald Handle section of The Beer Stein Library. However, mold 284 in TBSL is a souvenir stein for Boston. Barry Toussaint in his June 2005 Prosit article on souvenir steins states the number after the slash indicates the size of the stein.
