I have an what appears to be an old Marzi & Remy beer stein that was designed by Gustav Thinwiebel.
It’s stamped with 216 on bottom and the left side of the handle as well as the small GT on the right side of the handle.

I can’t find any info on this particular number.

Does anyone have any idea of a possible estimated value for this stein?

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Dan,

M&R 216 appears in The Beer Stein Library and the Old Manufacturing Catalogs as two different types. TBSL shows it as a 1/2 L relief stein with a PUG scene from a painting of a woman sitting with two men. The OMC show it as full relief with the people sitting outside. Value will depend on type, size, full color versus limited color and condition. The values shown in TBSL are estimates generally found in stein auctions in mint condition. About 30-33% goes to the auction house. Private sales or ebay sales will be on the lower side or less.

Thinwiebel isn’t know to be the designer of M&R 216. Can you post a photo?
