There is a stein very similar to yours that just sold on ebay. The design is identical except that the lion on yours is colored blue. That stein has the manufacturer’s mark that Merkelbach and Wick used prior to 1923. I would guess that your stein was also made by them about the same time.

Hi John= thanks for sharing that. Wow, I guess I need to be on the lookout for another Lowenbrau krug- that one was a real beauty also (I’ve seen that seller before- they have some really nice ones!)

Mine doesn’t have as intricately detailed lid, and there is no maker’s mark on the bottom, but you’re right about the design, and even the typeset being nearly identical.
