I just bought a stein off of Ebay and I am trying to figure out if it is a JWR or a M&R. Any thoughts?

RonI couldn’t find it in any on-line catalog, but that mold number does appear in a list of JWR mold numbers I got from Lyn Ayers. It is listed as a 1-1/2 L etched stein. The insert lid is a JWR insert. Maybe Lyn can give you his opinion as he specializes in JWR steins.
Are you a member of SCI? If not, you should consider joining.

Ron,
I am a member of SCI and I enjoy my membership very much. I figured it was one of the two but when I looked in the JWR and the M&R catalogs I couldn’t find the mold number. Once it arrives I will send it into TBSL. I’ll contact Lyn Ayers through the Membership Directory. I guess I never contacted a member through email before, is that an issue or not?

RonJoe,
It is not an issue contacting them if they include their e-mail address in the Membership Directory. Do you belong to a chapter or go to the convention? That is a good way to meet members and build contacts.

I was just told that it is a JWR from TBSL. Thank you for the help.

Ron, I haven’t been to a convention. I just moved back from Germany, so I have never had the chance. As for a chapter goes, I’ve thought about joining the update NY but their website does not work.

Joe, this is not from Marzi & Remy. Historically it has been classified as by JW Remy and that is how i have listed it in my files, but some recent information i have found is implying it’s not as simple as attributing it to JW Remy. JW Remy was definitely involved with its productions but until i can determine what the actual situation was, i will continue referring to it as a JW Remy piece.
