Looking for information on this Stein. Saw a reference to it in an old Prosit article in 1983.Wondering on value of this Stein?

    MPaden,

The electronic listing of articles does list that as being by the editor in the March 1983 issue, but I couldn’t find it. I also checked my printed copy and it wasn’t listed in the index and did not appear in the issue. Do you have a date or page citation for it? Do you have the decoration number? I searched using the terms you listed in the title, but it didn’t come up in the search of TBSL’s Mettlach catalog listing.

      MPaden,

Its value will depend on whether it is a one of a kind or was sold for a special event. If one had a lid it would be worth more. Do you have this stein?

I do have the stein. It does not have the lid. It is as pictured in the article.

I always wondered whether the stein was made to honor her or as a souvenir of the SS Kaiserin Auguste Victoria, launched on 8/25/05, which transported passengers between Hamburg and NYC until WWI. See the following for a history of the ship:http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_ship.asp?sh=kavic.

      gate78,

If it was a souvenir of the liner, it would have had SS in front of the name and most likely a photo of the liner.
