Thorwald HansenOf all the steins I have had in sixty years of collecting, only one was/is Swedish. This heavy pewter stein is 6″ tall and I would guess about .4L. I bought it in the early 1970s at Halls in Kansas City. They had it as a display extra. I asked about buying it and they had to call the display manager who whomped up a price. Wasn’t much as I recall. The finial and the feet are angel faces. I cannot translate the inscription except it’s obviously a first prize trophy for some competition in Trollhagen in 1899. I would be interested if any members have further information.
